- Begin using a systemic approach to solving engineering problems
General Engineering Course Descriptions
GE101 Engineering Orientation
Introduces the engineering profession and engineering problem-solving. Prerequisite: Placement into MTH112 or higher; or MTH111, MTH112, or MTH251 or higher; or consent of instructor. (All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.)
3 CreditsGE102 Engineering Computations
Acquaints engineering students with the use and operation of the microcomputer, using a computer algebra system. Covers the code and programs that will be developed and used in the solution of typical engineering problems. Emphasizes structured programming techniques. Prerequisite: Placement into MTH112 or higher; or MTH111, MTH112, or MTH251 or higher; or consent of instructor. (Prerequisite must be completed with a grade of C or better.)
3 CreditsGE103 Engineering Computations
Develops a systematic approach to engineering problem solving using computers. Includes applications in computer analysis, graphing and database operations using spreadsheet software. Prerequisite: GE101 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor.
